I remember thinking almost 10 years ago that I was ready to have another baby. Well, 10 years later, mission accomplished. As far as the timing, I never thought I’d be 40 years old with a baby. I have grandparents and cousins who have had children in their late 30’s and early 40’s. I just never thought it would be me. Jenna has been very strong and such a great mother while pregnant. Eating good and being able to raise her girls while pregnant, must have been exhausting. Well, she accomplished it like a champ.
Jasmine Mae, what can I say? Just one week and 3 days old, such a fighter! I’ve had 3 kids prior and all went term. So having a preemie, actually micro-preemie has been an experience. Daily hospital visits just to see her glowing body and feel her close is now our routine. Still waiting for the day to touch our princess. Calling the NICU 2 or maybe 3 times a day sometimes seems over barring, but she’s worth everything we can give!
I am now apart of the millions who father a preemie. I know we have a long road ahead of us, and I believe we are prepared for Jasmine’s Journey. I really feel for all those parents who call a hospital their second home. Currently as I am blogging this experience, our baby is receiving a PICC line to help with her nutrition and growth.
Here are 3 things that help keep our hope alive for Our Tiny Miracle.
She is currently being cared for by some of the best Dr.s in the world here at Primary Children’s Hospital.
God blessed us with a girl, so being a fighter and developing faster are on her side. Many studies show evidence that female infants tend to do better than males when born prematurely.
Our personal faith in God and the belief that he has a plan for her.
I love you Jasmine, fight baby love! We are anxiously waiting for you to come home with us!
