During a recent interview with Zane Lowe Lil Nas X talked about coming out.
In the interview, he says artists like Tyler, the Creator, and Frank Ocean have made it easier for him to be his authentic self. “Also ‘Provider’ was a very special song to me during this relationship I was in. So yeah, go Frank, he’s amazing,” Nas X said regarding a song by Frank Ocean. Nas X says that he came out because he didn’t want to live a lie in real life or in his music. “I honestly feel that I have my angels with me at all times. I felt like I was just getting signs, okay, it’s time we do this thing…” says Nas X who was ready to take things to the next level in his career. “It was either going to be that or what? Pretend this for the rest of my entire life? And also not be able to express that through my music.”
