Boy Scouts Organization Sued For Excluding Boy With Down Syndrome

After the Boy Scouts of America allegedly blocked his son from becoming an Eagle Scout and revoked his merit badges, a Utah father is suing the organization for “outrageous and reckless conduct”.

Logan Blythe is a 15-year-old boy living with Down syndrome and has been a scout through the National Parks Council in Utah. He’s been able to advance in the organization as the council has accommodated his special needs when necessary.

Logan was set to carry out his Eagle project, creating kits for special-needs babies, but was informed that the national organization voided all of the merit badges he had obtained.

The Boy Scouts organization has commented saying they’ve worked with Logan and his family to offer “alternative merit badges” and a path to become an Eagle.
