Chancer the Dancer?
If you’re a hip-hop fan (which I’m assuming you are since you’re on our website), tomorrow’s episode of Saturday Night Live (SNL) is one you won’t want to miss. Chance the Rapper will be hosting and Eminem will perform two tracks (presumably) off his upcoming album, Revival.
SNL released a new promo for this weekend’s episode of the show which gives Chance a new name.
What’s your favorite suggested new name? Comment below if you have another suggestion.
Based on this other promo it’s clear to see where they came up with “Chancer the Dancer.”
Chance first appeared on “SNL” back in December of 2015, but this will be his first time taking the role of a host. With Eminem covering musical duties, we’ll get an early glimpse of Chance’s comedy and acting abilities, before his upcoming horror-comedy film Slice.
If you’re familiar with SNL, then you know each musical guest always performs two songs on the show. Rumor has it that he’ll be performing “Walk on Water,” his first single off Revival.
In a recent interview with SiriusXM’s Shade 45, Eminem had this to say about Beyonce,
“First of all, Beyoncé is amazing, and (collaborating) has been on my wishlist for a long time,” Eminem said. “But I’ve never really had a song that I felt like would be right to present to her, so I was kind of waiting. And then me and Paul kicked the idea around after I finished it, and based off what it was about, I felt like she probably could relate to this, too. Just because Beyoncé is always, everything she does is so perfect, but the pressures behind that, for her to do it so perfect, I felt like she could probably relate to that. I told her, ‘I’ve never seen you make a mistake before, ever.’ Performance-wise, everything, every song she puts out, every album, it’s so calculated and precise and everything’s always so perfect.”
So what will the second song be? Something tells me he only agreed to do SNL to promote the second single off his upcoming album.
Make sure to catch this weeks episode because it’s bound to be a memorable one. Hopefully, we’ll get something like this again from Chance:
