Hepatitis A Outbreak In Utah! Have You Been Exposed?

If you ate, drank or used the restroom at the Sonic Drive-In or Olive Garden in Spanish Fork during certain days in December, you may have been exposed to Hepatitis A, according to officials.

The Utah County Health Department is making vaccinations available to anyone who who may have been exposed to the disease anytime from Dec. 21-30, and urges people to visit their website or call 801-851- HEPA to determine if you need treatment.

There was an infected employee working at both establishments during those dates, and the department warns that symptoms don’t show up right way so its important to get the vaccine immediately! There is a 2 week period you have before the vaccine is no longer effective.

These cases are linked to an ongoing outbreak in Utah County and other parts of the state since August 2017.
