No Features, J. Cole Is Kill Edward

Kidz on Drugz, King Overdose, Kill Our Demonz…

On Wednesday (April 18), J. Cole caused a frenzy on social media when he released the cover art and tracklist for his fifth studio album, K.O.D.

Earlier this week I saw headlines that said K.O.D. would have no features so I was confused when I saw an artist named kiLL Edward appear on two tracks, “the Cut Off” and “FRIENDS.” I thought to myself, “why would Cole have two features for an artist I’ve never even heard of?” I couldn’t wrap my head around why Cole would feature an artist for the first time since his 2013 sophomore album Born Sinner for an artist nobody even knows.

Scrolling through Twitter I then start to piece things together and come to find out that kiLL Edward is, in fact, J. Cole. It’s his alter ego.

Listen to the only kiLL Edward track to be found online, and see for yourself.

HALLELUJAH! Cole once again will go “platinum no features” on three straight albums.

Will he ever feature an artist on his album? He doesn’t need to.
