Richmond, Virginia Renames School That Was Named After A Confederate Leader

A school in Richmond, Virginia named after a Confederate leader has made a really big change! It now honors the 44th President of the United States.

Yesterday the Richmond School Board voted 6 to 1 to rename J.E.B. Stuart Elementary to Barack Obama Elementary School.

Other local names were being considered while another board member said he hopes they’re done renaming buildings and can start renovating them.

Another step in the right direction.
