Legendary music producer Quincy Jones recently broke the Internet with some pretty earth-shattering allegations in an interview with Vulture. Need a summary? Here are the top 5 most shocking excerpts.
1. Michael Jackson stole music.
Jones didn’t take long to crack, in the first question, he spilled, “I hate to get into this publicly, but Michael stole a lot of stuff. He stole a lot of songs.” He noted that Michael was “greedy” and didn’t give one of the writers of “Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough” any credit for the song.
2. He dated Ivanka Trump 12 years ago.
“She had the most beautiful legs I ever saw in my life. Wrong father, though.” Jones also alleged that Ivanka initiated the relationship.
3. He knows who killed Kennedy.
After being asked about his opinion on the public’s dislike of his friend Hillary Clinton, Jones mentioned that, “when you keep secrets — they backfire.” He then admitted that he also knows secrets he wishes he didn’t know including, “Who killed Kennedy.” When asked about it, he pointed to Chicago mobster, Sam Giancana, and the relationship between him, Frank Sinatra, the mafia, and the presidential election.
4. Marlon Brando slept with James Baldwin, Richard Pyor, and Marvin Gaye.
“He was the most charming motherf***er you ever met. He’d f*** anything. Anything! He’d f*** a mailbox. James Baldwin. Richard Pryor. Marvin Gaye.” After the allegation started to make headlines, Marvin Gaye’s widow, Jennifer, confirmed Jones’s story. Read her statement here.
5. The Beatles were terrible musicians.
“Paul was the worst bass player I ever heard. And Ringo? Don’t even talk about it. I remember once we were in the studio with George Martin, and Ringo had taken three hours for a four-bar thing he was trying to fix on s song. He couldn’t get it.”
