Utah Schools Don’t Offer Enough Mental Help, New Study Shows

More than 100k…

Utah’s school districts were sent survey’s to estimate how many students were in need of mental health services.

The survey was conducted on behalf of the Social Services Appropriations Subcommittee of the Utah State Legislature and the results have estimated that over 100,000 students are in need of services.

Based on the results, one out of five students need mental health help, but only one out of the five students who needed help were receiving it.

District leaders across the state feel as though there are not enough mental health resources available in schools.

Should mental health services be available in schools or should parents be responsible to provide any professional help?
