Late Monday afternoon a video was posted to Instagram by a Weber High School student with highly racist and offensive context. In the video you can see several young females creaming “F**k N*****s” over and over, one by one and then all together. The video was posted on Instagram, and has since blown up on social media, bringing attention to the school. Weber School District spokesman Lane Findlay made a statement saying that the incident will be investigated today. Social media has since identified the girls, and several people have encouraged calls and emails to be sent to the school expressing their feelings and concern.
According to social media, the girls are part of the Weber High Cheer Team. While many feel they should be suspended and or expelled, there are some who think the girls should be protected, and are making excuses for their actions. Claiming that the video was “taken out of context”, and that they “aren’t really saying what you think they’re saying”. Claims say the video is played in reverse and that what the girls are saying just so happens to sound like the racial slurs that are heard.
The school has since addressed the public with an official press release, check out the video below.
