Formed in 1994 by childhood friends Miles Doughty and Kyle McDonald, the band was discovered by Sublime's Bradley Nowell, who signed them to his Skunk Records label while they were still in high school. Their debut album, Slightly $toopid, was released in 1996, featuring a guest appearance by Nowell on the track "Prophet"
