Locals Only: My Horseback Riding Experience In Utah

I had been wanting to go horseback riding since I moved to Utah, and finally found the perfect place! This Is The Place Heritage Park was highly recommended online and on Yelp, which helped me make my decision. I wanted to find a place that had a beautiful view and offered a special experience. Not only was it New Years Day, but it was also my Boyfriends Bday so I had to make sure the experience was extra special!

I had contacted the park and was so happy with their awesome customer service! I had a lot of questions for them because I wasn’t sure if you needed experience or not. The best news was, you don’t need any horseback riding experience to take a trail ride!  We were greeted by Cowboy James, one of the horse trainers and trail ride guides. We took an hour trail ride through the beautiful landscape and Cowboy James pointed out all the historical landscapes and monuments on the property. My horse’s name was Ariel, my favorite Disney character. She was a little feisty, but well trained.

I learned so much about Utah and the history of the land. If you’re looking for a fun and different day date, check them out! I do recommend taking an earlier trail ride, the horses are a little easier going in the morning. By the afternoon they have taken about 3 1 hour trail rides so they can get a little fussy.
