Beerbongs & Bentleys is Post Malone’s second studio album and first No. 1 album on the Billboard Top 200.
Post first began teasing the project on December 29, 2016, when he changed his Twitter alias to “Beerbongs & Bentleys.” Fans immediately began to speculate that a new song was on its way. Later, he went to clarify that beerbongs & bentleys was indeed the name for his next project.
After a long wait for this album, it didn’t disappoint; it is already certified Platinum.

No. 15 – “Jonestown” (Interlude)
“Jonestown” references the infamous Jonestown cult massacre. Jonestown was located in Guyana: the residence of the Peoples Temple, an American cult led by and named after Reverend Jim Jones.
The phrase “drink the Kool-Aid” refers to blindly trusting something that may have devastating consequences. It can be traced back to the Jonestown massacre, where Jim Jones convinced his congregation to drink ‘Kool-Aid’ (which was actually grape Flavor Aid) poisoned with cyanide that resulted in 909 casualties. Historians debate whether this was an act of mass murder or mass suicide.

No. 14 – “Otherside”
On “Otherside,” Post discusses his feelings of anguish for a girl that betrayed him. In the chorus, he describes how all of the alcohol and models in the world could not replace the girl who left him. He also expresses his loss of faith in God. This is shown by his use of religious symbolism throughout the song.
No. 13 – “Sugar Wraith”
On the third song from beerbongs & bentleys named after a car, Post underscores his success by flexing about the vehicles he owns. The title of the song is a play on the name of the Rolls Royce Wraith, but is also a homophone for “Sugar Ray” which likely refers to the 90’s American Rock band whose smash hit “Fly” Post interpolates in the chorus.
No. 12 – “Over Now”
On “Over Now,” Post discusses breaking free from a bad relationship with a materialistic girl. While he was head over heels for her, he came to his senses and declares things to be “over now” and wishes her nothing but bad luck.

No. 11 – “Blame It On Me”
On “Blame It On Me,” Post reflects on the harsh consequences that follow the rap life. As the title suggests, Post blames himself for having to choose this lifestyle. Post rapped about how fame impacted him in a different way on his hit “rockstar.”
No. 10 – “Same Bitches” (feat. G-Eazy & YG)
“Same Bitches” revolves around women who don’t have a sense of self. They also tend to gravitate towards artists, such as the ones featured in this song, but the right girl wouldn’t be just like everyone else.
No. 9 – “92 Explorer”
“92 Explorer” is named after Post’s pimped out 1992 Ford Explorer. Post bought a ‘92 Explorer for $1,700, and sent it to West Coast Customs to pimp it out.
No. 8 – “Better Now”
“Better Now” has Post reminiscing about a past relationship. He mirrors his feelings with those of his ex, as he feels they are both masking the fact that they still have feelings for each other in an attempt to “win the breakup.” It is likely that this song is about the same girl as “I Fall Apart.”
No. 7 – “Zack and Codeine”
“Zack and Codeine” references the Disney Channel show The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. The show stars real-life twins Cole and Dylan Sprouse playing the titular twins as they live in a luxury hotel. The hotel motif is apparent on the track, as Post raps about his raging life and the parties he throws in hotels. He plays on the homophone of Cody’s name and “codeine,” an opiate that is most often referenced in hip-hop due to its status as an ingredient for lean.

No. 6 – “Takin’ Shots”
As its title would suggest, “Takin’ Shots” is a straightforward drinking song where Post also describes other aspects of his hedonistic lifestyle, including his drug habits and sexual escapades.
No. 5 – “Ball For Me” (feat. Nicki Minaj)
“Ball For Me” sees Posty and Nicki detailing their excessive money spending and lavish lifestyles whilst using a variety of basketball motifs. Post also talks about his interactions with his materialistic partner.
No. 4 – “Spoil My Night” (feat. Swae Lee)
“Spoil My Night” is an upbeat first collaboration between Post Malone and Swae Lee. Throughout the song, both artists detail nights filled with women and flexing their own money. Whenever women are around though, feelings seem to always interrupt a good time.
No. 3 – “Paranoid”
“Paranoid” is the opening track to Post Malone’s long-awaited beerbongs & bentleys. Post details his doubts about his security and safety with his friends and his rise to fame. He feels as if people could be manipulating him for his fame and fortune and begins taking more precautions to protect himself.
No. 2 – “Stay”
“Stay” was the fourth song to be debuted from Post Malone’s sophomore album, beerbongs & bentleys. The song is about Post’s struggle to maintain a relationship with a girl. It’s possible Post wrote this song during the short time that he and his girlfriend, Ashlen, had separated.

No. 1 – “Rich & Sad”
“Rich & Sad” talks about Post’s life when he was going through a hard time with his girlfriend, Ashlen Nicole Diaz. While Post showcases his wealth on this track, he still felt lonely during that time when they weren’t together, which goes back to the famous phrase “money doesn’t buy happiness.” Despite his rise to stardom, Post still wished that she never left him.
