Expectations will always lead to disappointment. One of the hardest lessons to learn is not giving people the benefit of the doubt, and to learn that actions speak louder than words. People will always show you who they are, believe them the first time. When someone lets you down, lies to you or breaks promises, learn to never rely on them again.
You will be disappointed every time if you continue to set expectations for people that don’t have your best interest in mind. Learn to keep these kinds of people at a distance or cut them off altogether.
Set no expectations and you will have no disappointment.
