Congratulations to Dr. Cynthia Kudji and her daughter, Dr. Jasmine Kudji, they are the first mother/daughter duo to graduate from medical school at the same time.
Cynthia graduated at the University of Medicine and Health Sciences (UMHS) St. Kitts in Maine while Jasmine graduated from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Louisiana.
Now both mother and daughter will do their residencies at LSU, with Cynthia focusing on family medicine and Jasmine on general surgery.
Cynthia, who is from Ghana, came to the United States at the age of two and on a recent trip back to Africa she helped a sick child and was inspired to become a doctor, she had been a nurse for ten years prior but put things on hold when she got pregnant with Jasmine.
