You may remember when Rapper Kevin Gates was released from a custody case last year after he kicked a woman at one of his concerts, only to be immediately arrested for an outstanding warrant on a weapons charge. Well, today (Wednesday, Jan. 10) Gates walked out of prison with no surprise arrest this time around.
He served nine months of a 30-month sentence and is now on tight parole. What could be in his plans now that he’s out of prison? Could he be dropping an album like Gucci Mane did as soon as he got out?
According to his wife’s twitter posts from last July, he has something in store for his fans.
BTW working on Kevin’s new project right now 😬and I’m not going to lie, I’m nervous as F b/c I’m not getting any input from him 😩 & he’s (1)

However, according to TMZ, his major plan is “devoting considerable time and resources talking to troubled teens and sharing anecdotes from his own life in hopes they’ll avoid the same pitfalls.”
Gates’ attorney Herschel Rush also stated,
“[Gates] will reach out to various organizations — including the Boys & Girls Club — to share stories about his regrettable decisions. No doubt Kevin can’t wait to see his wife and kids and get back to making music, but he’s also itching to set kids straight.”
Gates’ career has nearly been derailed by a series of prison sentences so I think it’s dope that he’s going to try and prevent teens from doing the same with their future, whatever it may hold. It’s one thing to learn from your mistakes, but it’s another thing to influence those you have an effect on to learn from your mistakes as well.
