Jordan River Utah Temple
As a member of the LDS (Mormon) church, the question I get asked a lot is, what goes on in the temple? Why is it a secret? Well, you can find out it’s not a secret at all at the Jordan River Utah Temple open house going on now through April 28th.
LDS temples differ from the meetinghouses or chapels where members meet on Sunday. Temples are considered “houses of the Lord,” where the teachings of Jesus Christ are reaffirmed through marriage, baptism and other ceremonies that unite families.
The Jordan River Utah Temple has undergone extensive renovations since February of 2016 and is now open to the public for free guided tours until it is rededicated in May.
The recent renovations include building reinforcements, mechanical and electrical upgrades, hard-ceiling installations, changing out escalators for stairs, and a baptistry remodel.
