My bay area fam, producer and rapper P-Lo of HBK GANG surprised fans with a new solo project on soundcloud! I finally got to link up with P-Lo in SLC when we brought him out to Summer Jam ’15, really dope, talented and real dude. “Before Anything” shows his versatility beyond the radio bangers he’s produced. My personal favorites? “In That” feels right at home in the scraper, and “Looked Up” shows that versatility.
In an interview with THE FADER P-Lo explains: “It’s really me just letting the people know who I am and what I’m capable of. Before Anything is me taking stand on where I am in my life, where I have been, and where I want to go. It’s a lot of different styles and sounds, and that’s real representative of who I am, growing up in the Bay Area made me such a complex human being, sometimes I’m hyphy, sometimes I’m real player, sometimes I’m in my feelings, sometimes I want to inspire others, but at the end of day I’m human and thats where the music comes from.
