Including from BYU fans…
Lauren McCluskey was shot to death on the University of Utah campus October 22, 2018, by a man she briefly dated. Soon into the relationship, McCluskey learned of the real man she was dating at the time and ended things after learning he was a registered sex offender among other lies.
McCluskey’s family urged people to refrain from sending flowers in her obituary and instead give to the scholarship fund set up at the University.
Thank you for the wonderful messages of love for Lauren & support for us who are left behind. We are so moved by your words. We have received cards, flowers, & food from family, friends & strangers who care and are grieving with us. Thank you to everyone who donated in her name. pic.twitter.com/O60Gf5QjDQ

The majority of contributions have come from Utahns, including fans from the rival school BYU. More than 460 individual donors have given to the fund, which will provide scholarships to students on the school’s track and field team.
