LAUREL!
According to the guy who originally posted the audio, he recorded the pronunciation of the word “Laurel” from vocabulary.com.
Roland told TMZ that he and a friend were surfing the website vocabulary.com and came across the word. He says he heard “Laurel,” but his friend heard “Yanny” and that’s where the internet debate started.
According to audio experts, the reason people hear it differently is that everyone hears frequencies differently. They also blamed th quality of the recording for the distortion.
