Detroit Schools Still Feeding Students Despite Coronavirus Shutdown

Michigan may have closed all of its schools until April 5th, but that doesn’t mean students aren’t still going to show up — in Detroit, anyway.
The Detroit Public Schools Community District on Friday announced it will continue to serve breakfast and lunch to students in 58 schools. Both meals will be served on a “grab and go” basis, meaning cafeteria workers will hand out pre-packaged meals to students outside the building, district officials say. No students will be allowed inside.
