Kid Cudi Testifies: Diddy’s Alleged Retaliation Takes Center Stage in Federal Trial

A Molotov Cocktail and a Molten Relationship

In a dramatic turn at the federal sex trafficking and racketeering trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs, rapper Kid Cudi—born Scott Mescudi—took the stand on May 22, 2025. His testimony painted a chilling picture of alleged retaliation stemming from a brief romantic involvement with Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, Diddy’s former partner.

Cudi recounted that in January 2012, his Porsche was incinerated by a Molotov cocktail. Photographs presented in court revealed extensive fire damage and remnants of the incendiary device. Cudi testified, “I knew Diddy had something to do with it,” expressing his belief that the act was a direct consequence of his relationship with Cassie.

A Break-In and a Broken Bond

The rapper also described a prior incident in December 2011, where he discovered his Hollywood Hills home in disarray—security cameras repositioned, gifts unwrapped, and his dog locked in the bathroom, visibly traumatized. Cudi alleged that Diddy orchestrated this break-in, a claim that aligns with Cassie’s testimony about Diddy’s volatile behavior upon learning of their relationship.

Cassie’s Corroboration

Cassie’s own testimony corroborated Cudi’s accounts. She detailed a pattern of abuse and control by Diddy, including threats to harm Cudi. She recalled Diddy warning her that Cudi’s car would be “blown up,” a threat that materialized shortly thereafter. Cassie also testified about enduring “freak-offs,” coerced sexual encounters with escorts, which she described as emotionally and physically draining.

Dawn Richard’s Revelations

Adding to the mounting allegations, singer Dawn Richard, a former collaborator of Diddy, testified about witnessing Diddy’s abusive behavior towards Cassie. Richard recounted an incident where Diddy allegedly attacked Cassie with a skillet and made chilling threats, stating, “You could go missing, that we could die.”

Legal Landscape and Potential Consequences

Diddy faces a litany of charges, including racketeering, sex trafficking by force, and transportation for purposes of prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges. If convicted, he could face life imprisonment.
