Earlier and earlier…
I remember the days when my parents would wake up early in the morning (6:00 am) after Thanksgiving to line-up outside in the freezing cold to shop Black Friday deals. I personally remember waiting in line for a 6:00 am opening back in 2011 so I could purchase a great deal on a laptop, but those days are long gone.
Many stores have yet to announce their store opening times, (maybe they’re waiting to see what the competition decides to do) but here is what we know so far about Thanksgiving day deals.
- JCPenney/Shopko – 2:00 pm.
- Kohl’s/Macy’s/Target – 5:00 pm.
- Dicks/Kmart – 6:00 pm.
However, if you wait for that Black Friday deal it might be gone already. According to Adobe Analytics group manager of product marketing Nate Smith, “If you have a specific model in mind, especially a popular one, purchase it by Thanksgiving to ensure it is available. If any model will do, you will get the best deals on Black Friday.”
