XXXTentacion Vs. Gekyume…
Just one day after thousands of fans paid their respects to XXXTentacion at funeral services, his team released the music video to the now No. 1 song in the country.
The visual kicks off with two eyes hovering in pitch black. Eventually, a door opens and the eyes emerge from the darkness. It’s XXX and he is walking into a church. The pews are filled as he walks up to the altar and looks into an open casket, where he sees himself lying dead. Creeping into his conscious, XXX meets “Gekyume,” which is a word he actually created himself, meaning a different state or the next universe of thought. Subtitles run across the bottom of the screen with basic questions about his being as he enters his own funeral, staring down a former version of himself in the casket. XXX leans over the casket in silence and all of a sudden the dead Gekyume reaches up and grabs him by the throat and then they start fighting.
The music does not begin until about 2 minutes and 45 seconds in as it seems to be more of a short story rather than a music video.
