XXXTentacion Shot Dead at 20

Gone too soon…

Rapper XXXTentacion was fatally shot on Monday afternoon (June 18) in what investigators believe was a “possible robbery” as he left a motorcycle dealership north of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The shooting took place around 1:57 p.m. mountain time.

Less than two hours later, XXX was confirmed dead.

The Broward Sheriff department is looking for anybody who knows anything about the shooting.

In his few years in the spotlight, XXX was involved with several high-profile run-ins with the law but was truly trying to become better and influence others to do the same.

Many artists took to Twitter to offer their condolences and pay their respects.

TMZ has a timeline of events.

2:35 PM MT — The Broward Co. Fire Dept. tells us XXX has been rushed to a hospital. Witnesses say they heard multiple shots fired.

2:48 PM MT — According to dispatch audio — the incident was a possible drive-by — dispatchers named several possible getaway vehicles including a black Dodge Journey, Chevy Tahoe and a Jeep Grand Cherokee.

2:57 PM MT — Additional dispatch audio has revealed XXX was transported as a “Level 1” trauma patient … dispatchers described him as comatose.

3:14 PM MT — Witnesses told cops a Louis Vuitton bag was taken from XXX’s vehicle.

3:40 PM MT — Broward Co. Sheriff’s Dept. says XXXTentacion has been pronounced dead. According to the dispatch call, the suspects were described as 2 black males wearing hoodies, and the shooter was wearing a red mask. The car has been confirmed as a black Dodge Journey, with dark tint and black wheels.

5:07 PM MT — The Sheriff’s Dept. just released a statement saying XXX was approached by two armed suspects as he left the dealership. They say at least one of the suspects fired their gun, striking XXX. Cops say they believe the incident was a possible robbery.
