Clipse Command ESPYs Stage, Herald Bold Comeback with Let God Sort Em Out
Reunion Fueled by Pharrell
Clipse is back. Virginia Beach staples Pusha T and Malice reunited under Pharrell’s wing for their first LP in nearly 16 years, Let God Sort Em Out, released July 11. Entirely produced by Pharrell, who reportedly crafted beats in Louis Vuitton’s Paris studio, the album restores the complex, minimalist sound that defined Hell Hath No Fury, while steering clear of nostalgia and embracing urgency and raw chemistry.

ESPYS Appearance Proves Stagecraft Still Sharp
On July 16, Clipse stormed the 2025 ESPY Awards stage with nothing but a DJ, performing their 2002 breakout “Grindin” and the sharper new single “Ace Trumpets.” Social media buzz lauded the sparseness, with one user noting, “No orchestra… just them and a DJ,” while another praised the rollout as “perfect execution,” pointing to their calculated yet spontaneous presence. Check out my favorite Clipse tracks.

Clipse Perform on Tiny Desk
The duo also made an eclectic performance on NPR’s Tiny Desk, performing a mix of old and new songs:

Nostalgia is Dead. Clipse Isn’t.
Clipse’s return isn’t built on mere nostalgia. With lean, focused production and razor-sharp wordplay, they’ve delivered an album that pushes forward while echoing their legendary past. Their ESPYS performance underlined this resurgence: no lights, no frills, just raw closeness to craft. Expect more bold moves as their fall tour ignites across North America. Unfortunately, Las Vegas is the nearest show to Salt Lake City.
