Directed by frequent collaborator James Mackel, the video opens with the artist confronting a series of escalating domestic disasters—home intruders, a sudden kitchen fire, and a menacing Doberman Pinscher.
As she escapes these threats, the chaos intensifies: a chandelier nearly crushes her, an elephant roams the streets, and a swarm of dancers invades her personal space.
This visual narrative complements the song’s introspective lyrics and marks Doechii’s first entry into the Billboard Hot 100’s Top 10.
A Grammy Milestone
The release of Anxiety follows Doechii’s historic win at the 2025 Grammy Awards, where her mixtape Alligator Bites Never Heal earned Best Rap Album.
This achievement made her the third female rapper to receive this honor, joining Lauryn Hill and Cardi B.
In her emotional acceptance speech, Doechii, born Jaylah Ji’mya Hickmon, emphasized her journey toward sobriety and aimed to inspire Black women, stating, “You are exactly who you need to be to be right where you are.”
