Kendrick Lamar Tops 2025 BET Awards With 10 Nominations

Kendrick Lamar is once again at the forefront of hip-hop, leading the pack with 10 nominations at the 2025 BET Awards. The rapper’s latest album, GNX, is up for Album of the Year, while his chart-dominating Drake diss track, “Not Like Us,” earned nods for both Video of the Year and the Viewer’s Choice Award. He also received recognition for his collaborations, including “Luther” with SZA and “Like That” with Future and Metro Boomin.

Close behind Lamar are six nominations for Doechii, Drake, Future, and GloRilla. Metro Boomin follows with five, while SZA and The Weeknd both land four.

Doechii Steps Into the Spotlight

Fresh off critical acclaim, Doechii’s debut album Alligator Bites Never Heal has earned her six nominations, including Album of the Year and Best Female Hip-Hop Artist. The genre-blending track “Denial Is a River” is recognized in both the Video of the Year and Viewer’s Choice categories. She’s also nominated for BET Her with “Bloom” and Best Collaboration for “Alter Ego” featuring JT.

Drake’s Emotional Turn

Drake returns to his R&B roots with $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, a collaborative project with PartyNextDoor. The album is in the running for Album of the Year, while his single “Family Matters” competes for Video of the Year. He’s also nominated for Best Male R&B/Pop Artist, Best Male Hip-Hop Artist, and Viewer’s Choice for the track “Nokia.”

Future and Metro Boomin Reunite

Future and Metro Boomin team up again on We Don’t Trust You, securing an Album of the Year nod. Their track “Like That,” which features Kendrick Lamar, is up for Best Collaboration and Viewer’s Choice. GloRilla’s Genre-Spanning Year

GloRilla brings a unique blend of gospel and hip-hop with Glorious, which is in contention for Album of the Year. The inspirational “Rain Down on Me,” featuring Kirk Franklin and Maverick City Music, is nominated for the Dr. Bobby Jones Best Gospel/Inspirational Award.

Twenty-Five Years of BET: Still Not Like Us

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the BET Awards, which comedian Kevin Hart will host. The event airs live from Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater on June 9 at 8 p.m. ET. Voting for the Viewer’s Choice Award opens soon, giving fans the chance to support their favorite artists.
